Summer Brown is a graduate student from Southern California.  She received here BS in chemistry and a BA in history from the University of Redlands. Before joining the Evans Research Group, she worked with Dr. Rebecca Lyons on environmental chemistry research.   Summer intends to pursue an academic career after finishing her graduate work and hopes to help train the next generation of scientists.  To this end, she has focused on gaining teaching experiences at UF, mentored several undergraduate students, and has co-founded the chemistry department's newest graduate student organization, Organic Researchers and Chemists Association (ORCA).  Outside of the scientific world, she enjoys playing the keyboard, baking pumpkin scones, and running.
